Refund Policy

Refund Requests must be received in writing, via email to our Registrar.

Registration Fee - General Refund Policy:

  • Withdrawal by midnight July 15, shall receive a full registration fee refund, less the $50 non-refundable deposit.
  • Withdrawal by midnight September 15, 75% of registration fee refunded.
  • Withdrawal by midnight October 15, 65% of registration fee refunded.
  • Withdrawal by midnight November 15, 50% of registration fee refunded.
  • Withdrawal on November 16 or later, no registration fee refund available.
  • NOTE: U21 A and C both fall under this policy.

Registration Fee - A Tryout Players Refund Policy:

This policy supercedes the above in the case of withdrawal when a player has selected to participate in an A Tryout. Late withdrawals in A pools create a lot of chaos and re-scheduling, so this policy was created to discourage that practice.

  • Withdrawal by midnight July 15, shall receive a full registration fee refund, less the $50 non-refundable deposit.
  • Withdrawal by midnight August 10, 50% of registration fee refunded.
  • Withdrawal on August 11 or later, no registration fee refund available.

A Tryout Fees Refund Policy:

Refunds of A Tryout Fees are only available until July 15.  After that date, tryout fees are non-refundable.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PLAYER OR PARENT TO REQUEST A REFUND, IN WRITING VIA EMAIL TO THE REGISTRAR.

If a player is expelled or suspended, NO refund shall be granted.

EXCEPTIONS:

1> While we always endeavour to ensure all our players can participate, there are rare occasions where we run out of room or cannot offer enough teams for certain categories/divisions. In the case where we cannot supply a team for a player to participate in, a full refund will be provided without a need for a request.

2> In the case of U18 players who are trying out for alternate BC Hockey programs such as Zone teams or Junior, we recommend those players also register with CMHA and pay only the $50 non refundable deposit to indicate that they may return and play with their MHA. This will entitle that player to ONE tryout skate, and will qualify them for placement on an A team within CMHA if they later return to CMHA, provided there are still roster spots available at that time.

3> In the case of a medical inability to play or other serious family situation that requires a player to withdraw - those withdrawals will be dealt with on a case by case basis, and in most cases a partial refund can be provided outside of the above policy.

4> If the A Tryout process changes format such that a partial refund is applicable (such as the elimination of a separate A1 pool tryout), a credit will either be applied to any remaining installments, or that portion will be refunded if the registration has already been paid in full.

5> A player who is documented to participate in a Non-Sanctioned League will be removed from their CMHA roster and de-registered (expelled) from their CMHA team without a refund.
