Refund Policy
Refund Requests must be received in writing, via email to our Registrar.
General Refund Policy:
- Withdrawal by midnight July 15, 2022, shall receive a full registration fee refund, less the $50 non-refundable deposit.
- Withdrawal by midnight September 15, 2022, 75% of registration fee refunded.
- Withdrawal by midnight October 15, 2022, 65% of registration fee refunded.
- Withdrawal by midnight November 15, 2022, 50% of registration fee refunded.
- Withdrawal on November 16, 2022 and later - there will be no registration fee refund available.
- U21 A and C both fall under this policy, due to tryouts for U21 not beginning until September.
A Tryout Players Refund Policy:
This policy supercedes the above in the case of withdrawal when a player has selected to participate in an A Tryout. Late withdrawals in A pools create a lot of chaos and re-scheduling, so this policy was created to discourage that practice.
- Withdrawal by midnight July 15, 2022, shall receive a full registration fee refund, less the $50 non-refundable deposit.
- Withdrawal by midnight August 10, 2022, 50% of registration fee refunded.
- Withdrawal by midnight September 15, 2022, there will be no registration fee refund available.
A Tryout Fees Refund Policy:
Refunds of A Tryout Fees are separate from the above, and are only available up to July 15, 2022. After that date, tryout fees are non-refundable.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PLAYER OR PARENT TO REQUEST A REFUND, IN WRITING VIA EMAIL TO THE REGISTRAR.
If the player is expelled or suspended, NO refund shall be granted.
EXCEPTIONS:
1> While we always endeavour to ensure all our players can participate, there are rare occasions where we run out of room or cannot offer enough teams for certain categories/divisions. In the case where we cannot supply a team for a player to participate in, a full refund will be provided without a need for a request.
2> In the case of U15-U21 players who played for CMHA last season and are trying out for alternate programs such as BC Hockey Zone teams or Junior A or B, we recommend those players also register with CMHA and pay only the $50 deposit and tryout fee to indicate that they may return and play with their MHA. If successful in making that alternate program before tryouts begin, a full refund will be provided once the player HCR profile transfer request is received by CMHA. (Players who are trying out for BC Hockey programs and did not play for a CMHA/BC Hockey program last season will need to email our registrar prior to registering, as we have a separate policy for this situation).
3> In the case of a medical inability to play or other serious family situation that requires a player to withdraw - those withdrawals will be dealt with on a case by case basis, and in most cases a partial refund can be provided outside of the above policy.
4> If the A Tryout process changes format such that a partial refund is applicable (such as the elimination of a separate A1 pool tryout), a credit will either be applied to any remaining installments, or that portion will be refunded if the registration has already been paid in full.
