Coaches Corner

We are now accepting applications for Coaches for the 2024-2025 season!

If you have questions, please email our Director of Hockey - Craig Sherbaty - [email protected].

Assistant Coaches are also welcome to apply, but we will not start working on Assistant Coach assignments until Head Coaches are assigned, and it is up to each Head Coach who they select as their Assistants.

Once approved for a team, all Coaches must complete the steps listed on the Team Officials Qualifications webpage. We host our own coaching clinics in most categories each season. Information on this will be provided once dates are confirmed with BC Hockey.

Jon Silcox

U18 A1

Jon is in his second season of coaching in CMHA. Last season he brought our U18 A2 team to the BC Hockey Championship, where they finished with Silver.

Jon brings passion and energy to each and every ice time while coaching and always has an expectation to be the hardest working team on the ice, win or lose. Jon expects his players to be in top physical and mental condition, while playing the game with drive and discipline. Jon focuses his practices around high tempo and work ethic, and pushes to get the highest level of compete and battle out of his players. Jon will expect his team to be one of the lowest penalized teams in Midget hockey as he continues to drive the message that discipline and special teams win hockey games.

Jon is excited to work with the U18 athletes to drive success in school, life and hockey. Jon is also a former BCHL official and currently still works minor hockey games with BC hockey. Jon along with his coaching staff are very excited to work with these athletes and push them onto the next level.
