Referee in Chief / Ref Assignor Needed
CMHA is in need of a new Referee in Chief and Ref Assignor for the 2025-2026 season.
Kim Lamberton has done an amazing job for our Association over the past many years, and she is now ready to pass on that mantle to someone new.
The person who fills this role must be an experienced referee who is capable of teaching, evaluating and mentoring young officials.
Referee Development: The RIC ensures that referees receive proper training and development opportunities to improve their skills and knowledge.
Recruitment and Retention: They are involved in recruiting new referees and retaining current ones.
Game Assignments: The RIC is responsible for assigning referees to games, often in collaboration with other assignors or organizations like PCAHA.
Evaluations: The RIC conducts or oversees evaluations of referees to assess their performance and identify areas for improvement. This includes oversight of our hosted C tournaments.
Communication and Coordination: They act as a point of contact for referees, communication with the association’s board, and coordinating with other officials and stakeholders.
Policy and Procedure: The RIC ensures that the association’s referee program adheres to relevant rules, regulations, and policies.
This position does usually include a honorarium.
