On the evening of March 4th, we held a ceremony to formally celebrate the friendships that Parker Magnuson and Caleb Reimer brought to our Association.
Our U18 A1 Captain – Ashan Khangura – spoke on behalf of the Colts players about how meaningful these friendships are to all who knew Parker, Caleb, and also Surrey MHA alum Ronin Sharma.
We are thankful that Kent and Andrea Magnuson and Shaye Reimer were part of this. Kent shared from the heart what this meant to their families. πŸ’•
We have now placed the jersey boxes in a trophy case in Cloverdale Arena. Please take the time to check them out and take forward from this the importance of the friends we all have through hockey.
In honour of this, we will also be renaming our U9 tournament to be the β€˜Friendship’ tournament, starting with next season.
Miki Goto filmed the ceremony (thank you, Miki), and has made it available on YouTube here:

Previous post:

On the afternoon of August 21st, we learned the terrible news that three boys were killed in a horrific car accident earlier that morning. Two of those boys – Parker Magnuson and Caleb Reimer – were former Colts players, and the third – Ronin Sharma (originally from Surrey MHA) – was also well known in our hockey community. All three boys also later played for Delta Hockey Academy. Parker also was also a Junior Coach with our First Shift program.

Parker and Caleb were both well known in our Association to be hard-working and talented players, who also happened to be very great people. We hear the same would be said for Ronin. Our condolences go out to the many hockey families impacted by these losses.

This news is extremely upsetting and sad for everyone, and our hearts go out to everyone who is struggling.

If you wish to help the Magnuson, Reimer and Sharma families. A gofundme is going here:
